The Associate Product Manager is a full-time role that serves as part of PowerMyLearning's Product Team and reports to the Managing Director of Product. The person in this position will be responsible for helping the team to refine its product roadmap and implementation to improve the experience of Family Playlists for teachers, families, and students.


  • Help the team make data-driven product decisions by running reports in Kissmetrics and FullStory, writing requirements for collecting data in Kissmetrics and PowerBI, and synthesizing data to turn into actionable insights
  • Manage user research: identify opportunities to do discovery research, collect user feedback, conduct user testing and interviews, and communicate results of user research in collaboration with UX/UI Designer to uncover unmet user needs or improve existing functionality
  • Help ideate technically feasible product and implementation solutions to address user needs and improve key product metrics – and develop and execute a plan to validate ideas to prioritize enhancements to add to the product roadmap
  • Support Senior Business Analyst in writing requirements to enable software development teams to implement product enhancements
  • Escalate bugs reported by end-users in Jira and help with QA troubleshooting and testing as needed
  • Clearly communicate about newly released features and product changes to members of other teams, including Programs, Marketing, and Sales, and to end-users
  • Help create outreach and support materials to help teachers, families, and students successfully use Family Playlists
  • Provide support to users by running Family Playlist Educator Launch trainings, hosting product training webinars, and managing the helpdesk
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to monitor implementation success for individual schools and teachers
  • Build and share knowledge of best practices in edtech
  • Maintain a spirit of shared ownership, cooperation, and accountability through all phases of product development: conception through release and post-release.



  • Passion for PowerMyLearning's mission and values
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a product management role or building a product in another role
  • Prior experience working directly with students, teachers, or families
  • Strong analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills, with proven success applying them independently
  • Ability to think strategically about how to prioritize product and implementation changes to drive improvement on key product metrics
  • Ability to communicate clearly to a wide-ranging group of stakeholders
  • Ability to scope down product ideas into MVPs and/or validate ideas through hypothesis-driven experimentation
  • Strong project management skills


  • Experience as a K-5 classroom teacher
  • Experience in edtech
  • Familiarity with product experimentation techniques, such as A/B testing
  • Experience with Jira and proficiency in Excel

Compensation for this role would be $70,000 annually.
