This position will manage HBX efforts on establishing the strategy for university and non-profit collaborations, including developing and implementing a strategic global plan, building and sustaining relationships between HBX and various US and international organizations, and developing programming and support that will foster ongoing interest in and support for HBX products. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Alliances and Initiatives, this role will initially focus on promotion of CORe to colleges and universities and will expand as our portfolio of relevant courses grows. This role will also support internal Harvard University use of HBX offerings and the development of strategic global alliances in the B2B space.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan for university and non-profit collaborations for HBX, working in partnership with HBX leadership, past participants, faculty, staff, and HBS alumni.
  • Identify, build and maintain robust and long-term relationships with colleges and universities that are of mutual benefit and allow HBX to reach a broader audience of engaged participants.
  • Collaborate with internal Harvard University stakeholders to leverage HBX offerings in conjunction with other programs and initiatives.
  • Work with colleges and universities to identify institutional needs that would match the programming offered through HBX Products; help advise on potential campus initiatives or programming that will maximize the impact of HBX courses for participating colleges and universities.
  • Work with schools and organizations to identify marketing materials or outreach efforts that would best reach the target audience, and work internally at HBX to develop and implement.
  • Facilitate the creation of a global pricing and scholarship model for each component of the HBX portfolio.
  • In collaboration with Associate Director, Business Operations, research and report on international regulatory environments, issues related to international program operations, and intercultural considerations.
  • Determine data and analytics that measure success of this specific population and the impact on their overall learning experience; use data to help inform colleges and universities of the benefits of participation for their students.
  • Manage day to day inquiries from prospective organizations about potential collaboration, and convert to collaborating colleges or contracted clients. Oversee the establishment of related MOUs and contracts; adjust approach based on institutional needs.
  • Work with Program Services on specific processes and requirements for enrolling participants from collaborating universities, including the transfer of FERPA protected student data, financial aid information for awarding scholarships, and progress and completion details. Continue to iterate and improve upon processes over time.
  • Work with the HBS Marketing & Communications team on media releases related to collaborations with colleges and universities.
  • Other responsibilities as part of the larger marketing team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years work experience in higher education, online education, business development, or other relevant area

Additional Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • Proven experience building and sustaining relationships, and working with a diverse audience
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to identify, establish, and maintain relationships with senior university representatives
  • Ability to think quickly in high-pressure situations and deliver the HBS/HBX message to the appropriate audience is critical
