The College Board, the national educational organization, is conducting a search for an Assistant Director/Associate Director, AP Program Innovation. This position is based in New York City. the ideal canidate has 2-4 years of experience as a managment consultant or associate.

The Associate Director/ Assistant Director, AP Program Innovation will work with the AP Innovation Team and Advanced Placement (AP) leadership to fundamentally transform the way in which the AP program supports millions of students and teachers. In collaboration with the AP Innovation Team, this individual will support a high-visibility, large-scale, change management project with complex work streams including: digital product design and development, backend infrastructure integration, user needs evaluation, assessment development, and public outreach. She/he will support the end-to-end management of scope, schedule and budget for the overall project and lead specific work streams in a program management capacity. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to education and project management and/or management consulting experience.

* Support the AP Innovation Team in driving and coordinating a cross-functional team through a multi-year design, development, and evaluation process. Launch a complex change management program at scale, on time and on budget.

* Maintain organized, detailed core project management documents (e.g. budget, integrated project plans). Work with internal teams to gather and document key status inputs and operational implications/risks associated with project goals on ongoing basis.

* Produce highly effective status reports for clear internal communication of overall project health across all tracks of work to ensure that all project team members are briefed on all relevant aspects of the project.

* Work with the AP Innovation Team to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in project operations and processes.

* Oversee and provide feedback on the work of others who are not direct reports: collaborate to understand colleagues' and/or external vendors' work and identify areas for improvement.

* Conduct high quality research and analysis to inform critical decisions for the Innovation Team.

* Develop and manage highly collaborative relationships across the organization to support program implementation.

* Assist in the management of outsourced vendors and processes, ensuring that all targets are met and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.


* Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus

* For the Assistant Director Level- a minimum of 2+ years' full-time experience in project management, management consulting or equivalent required.

* For the Associate Director Level- a minimum of 4+ years' full-time experience in project management, management consulting or equivalent required.

* Experience supporting large-scale projects – ideally, in the digital or education spaces – with complex, interrelated, work streams.
