The inventive Curriculum team develops the dynamic material to capture campers’ attention and spark curiosity. They create rich, riveting new projects and courses that ultimately turn Galileo campers into fearless innovators. A team of creative professionals, they welcome intellectual intensity, thrive on collaboration and feedback, are the torchbearers of our pedagogy with a reputation for hosting elaborate themed celebrations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred

• Deep art subject matter expertise

• 3 years’ experience teaching art/design to K-8 children, with a strong focus on design-thinking and/or project-based learning

• Proven track record of creating original curriculum and/or projects

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and writing on a schedule with regular deadlines

• Mastery of Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive suite

• Able to provide your own transportation to/from Galileo Bay Area sites

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop unique, highly-engaging art and design curriculum for pre-K-8th graders, ensuring the seamless integration of the Galileo Innovation Approach

• Manage multiple projects to fruition from brainstorming, testing, and revising to arm our staff with the tools to bring art and maker spaces to life for our campers

• Consistently empathize with your end users—Galileo summer staff and campers

• Create content for instructor professional development and training

• Provide insight and support to instructional staff during the summer

• Support other curriculum activities and initiatives as needed

• Collaborate with the Warehouse & Purchasing team to identify materials best suited for our needs and budget
