THE OPPORTUNITY

The Achievement Network (ANet) is seeking an enthusiastic Quality Assurance Software Engineer who has the ability to collaborate with product managers and engineers to develop and deliver web-based educational products and services at the highest level of quality.Reporting to the Vice President of Product Management, the Quality Assurance Software Engineer will be a strong advocate and voice for overall quality on the team from requirements through deployment. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of planning and executing the testing strategy and improving and maintaining product quality.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of deliverables
  • Validate deliverables through functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to clarify functionality and resolve usability issues and defects
  • Document, research, and communicate defects discovered during testing, and verify defect fixes
  • Assist with web application deployments to verify production releases
  • Participate in daily scrum and sprint planning meetings
  • Contribute to continual QA process improvement efforts

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Software testing background, including 3+ years of experience testing commercially available web-based applications
  • Experience with manual, regression and functional testing
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience working with multiple operating systems including iOS and Mac OS X
  • Experience working in the education industry and working with teachers as users is preferred
