We are seeking talented educational leaders with a desire to foster high levels of academic achievement in urban middle and high schools. Green Dot’s year-long, paid Administrator-in-Residence Program gives individuals the opportunity to shadow Green Dot principals, work in a school leadership capacity at multiple Green Dot sites, partner with Green Dot home office support staff on special projects, and benefit from a structured curriculum aligned with national and regional standards for school leadership development. This program would require that the candidate leave his/her current position (at the end of this school year) in order to spend the next year training to become an administrator at a Green Dot school the following school year. Administrator-in-Residence Program Goal

To induct and train future Green Dot school administrators in the following areas:

> Green Dot philosophy, core values, and education model

> Instructional Leadership

> People Management

> Resource Management

> School Culture

The program provides ongoing support for the Administrators-in-Residence as they develop their philosophy of education and leadership and as they develop key foundational elements prior to hire as an administrator at a Green Dot Public School.


> Possess a growth mindset and love of learning

> Hold a valid California, Clear single-subject or multiple subject teaching credential

> Meet the California minimum requirement of 5 years of teaching experience, in order to qualify for a school leader (administrator) credential

> Prior teaching experience (preferably at the middle or high school level) and the ability to demonstrate a history of improving student achievement

> Experience as an Assistant Principal is preferred but not required

> Experience and demonstrated capability with leadership roles (mentor teacher, department chair, assistant principal, etc.)

> Proven management and team building skills

> Experience managing budgets, creating and implementing policies

> Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills

> Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment

> A passion for improving instructional quality in urban middle and high schools and driving education reform

> Experience coaching teachers and/or demonstrated ability

> Ability to establish/foster a positive and safe school culture

> Understanding of effective professional development

> Understanding of effective instruction

> Ability to think strategically about how to engage stakeholders (family, community, teachers, students, etc.)

> Knowledge of bilingual education preferred

> Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable

> Dependability, humility, sense of humor, and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve

> Must be able to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer

> Having an Administrative Credential is required prior to assuming a position as an administrator the following school year. However, this is not a requirement in order for acceptance into the AIR program.

The annual salary range for Administrators-in-Residence is $83,000 - $93,500, based on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits plan (including CalSTRS participation), as well as the opportunity to impact a growing, mission-driven organization that is committed to the success of all students.
