OPPORTUNITY:

As a member of the Adelante cohort, you would work to transform public education by leading a Green Dot classroom. The program, in conjunction with Loyola Marymount University, supports you as you earn your credential, while simultaneously working as a full-time, salaried classroom teacher in one of our middle or high schools. As a Green Dot teacher, you will receive training that directly aligns with your classroom experience. Extensive supports include an intensive summer training session, year-long on-site credential coursework, twice-weekly professional development, regular observations, coaching and feedback, and new teacher supports.

Upon acceptance into the program, you must:

> Pass California state requirements, including the CBEST and the CSET, in your chosen content area (English, Spanish, Math, Middle School Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics), by May 11th

> Pass the U.S. Constitution Exam by June 1st

> Participate in summer teaching and training that begins in July 2018 (more information provided upon acceptance into the program)

> Major or specialization in the content being pursued (preferred)

COMPENSATION:

Our starting salary begins at $49,500. Additionally, you will receive a full medical and dental benefits package.

Tuition

Tuition for the 2018-2019 cohort is estimated to be $12,500. This cost reflects a 30% discount for the Loyola Marymount Single Subject Teaching Credential program. If you wish to earn a Master’s in Education at Loyola Marymount, there will be an additional 30% tuition discount offered. The cost of the Master’s program is not included in this program.
