The Job

We are seeking a vibrant person to join our small team in the role of Account Executive - Sales. This is an exciting time to become part of the Write the World team as our reach and membership continues to grow worldwide. We are seeking a highly motivated team member who has a successful track record in sales, including making outbound phone calls, scheduling meetings and closing deals. As Account Executive, you will be responsible for analyzing target teachers, schools, districts and partners with which our company can make the strongest impact. You will work closely with management on defining the membership goals for the company. You will attend conferences and events regularly throughout the nation to market the company product. Fostering and maintaining a cohesive, productive and collaborative relationship with teachers, school districts and school administrators will be a priority.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the sales, and placement of our online writing products and services into school districts, school systems, and other educational institutions (such as summer camps, and after-school programs) within the U.S., and assist with such sales and placement to international customers.
  • Actively manage current accounts and drive new business development growth.
  • Demonstrate how Write the World’s educational products and services can help solve the challenges that school districts and teachers face .
  • Actively engage in business development activities, including attendance at conferences, sales meetings, and workshops.
  • Partner with our marketing team to design and leverage social media campaigns and data to generate leads and secure new product placements.
  • Assist with the development of pricing models for our products and services.
  • Achieve and track defined sales objectives.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with responsive account management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A passion for education and a desire to transform education worldwide.
  • A minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience.
  • Must have proven success selling educational software, educational curriculum, educational technology or similar products/services into the K-12 market.
  • Ideal candidate will have a combination of education, English/ Language Arts/Writing teaching, sales, and relationship management experience.
  • In depth knowledge of current writing standards and methods of instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written). Must be confident and accustomed to liaising with, and maintaining relationships with, teachers and school administrators.
  • Strong presentation skills, especially in the promotion of educational software products.
  • Strong understanding of the sales life cycle and procurement process for selling educational technology into schools.
  • Proactive in identifying and developing new business from telephone, conferences, email, internet, and other sales inquiry methods.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills

  • Available for moderate travel
  • BS/BA required

Compensation:

Base salary

Commission and/or bonus package

Location: Position is located in Cambridge, MA

Part-time with potential to convert to full-time

Onsite or work from home as needed
