Since launching 8 years ago, we have grown Springboard’s reach from 40 to nearly 15,000 students across 22 cities and 700+ schools. Amidst rapid growth, Springboard consistently delivers best-in-class results. Students average a 3-4-month reading gain during each 5 or 10-week cycle, closing the gap to grade-level performance by more than half. Weekly family workshops average 91% attendance. About the opportunity

Springboard Collaborative is seeking an ambitious and energetic sales professional to make a big impact on the growth trajectory of a rapidly scaling social enterprise that aspires to help 100,000 children reach their reading growth goals by 2023.

Account Executives report to Springboard’s Sr. Director of Sales and will work closely with Regional Executive Directors. Account Executives will prospect for new business at the school/building level in a defined sales territory, with opportunities to add small districts to their prospect list as we go.

Our next Account Executive loves the idea of advancing the goals of a rapidly scaling social enterprise and playing an essential role in bringing our ambitious vision to life: catalyzing a culture shift in the education sector to make family engagement a matter of course.

  • Relationship builder: You are a skillful, proactive, and persistent relationship-builder. Your enthusiasm for our offerings comes across in each interaction, and customers respect your work ethic, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Dogged and creative pursuit of goals: You sink your teeth into quarterly goals and continually problem solve in order to reach them; You are optimistic and one bad day won’t phase you; You stay grinding, knowing that sales is a marathon and not a sprint.

    Key responsibilities

    New sales

    • Own full-cycle sales work to ensure you hit your partnership goals and new revenue targets
    • Execute a consistent, balanced prospecting playbook and sales cadence to ensure a robust partner pipeline (calls, emails, warm introductions, social selling)
    • Research assigned accounts, noting key insights and pain points that we are positioned to address through our offerings
    • Structure quality pitch meetings and steward customers through closing
    • Rigorously track all activity and next steps using Salesforce

    Partner retention

    • Stay close to partner needs through regular check-ins and touchpoints
    • Identify ways to add value to partners even when not directly pitching our services/offerings
    • Schedule debrief meetings with principals and/or district leaders post-program to share results, mine for improvements, and agree to next steps
    • Renew business and seek ways to meet customers’ evolving needs

    Cross-team collaboration

    • Communicate weekly with Executive Directors to share district learnings and to design strategies that accelerate deals in your shared region
    • Collaborate with program implementation team to keep a strong pulse on the programming
    • Work closely with products team to ensure you develop the product knowledge required to successfully represent our offerings and the value proposition that each represents
    • Partner with Partnerships Associate to get the dashboards you need to manage your work

    Desired skills and qualifications:

    • 2 years experience in education sales
    • Classroom teaching experience, ideally in K-5 ELA would be an incredible bonus
    • Entrepreneurial self-starter with drive to excel in whatever you tackle

    Compensation and benefits

    This is a full-time position offering benefits and a base salary of $65,000 and $80,000 year 1 OTE. Springboard Collaborative offers a benefits package including 4 weeks of PTO, health insurance, and 403(b) contribution match.
