Account Executive

Five Star Technology Solutions - Remote - Full time

At Five Star we take the guesswork out of school districts data. Districts have access to seemingly limitless information but often don’t have the time or skill necessary to act on the information. That’s where our team comes in. We help school administrators and teachers use the data to become more focused, empowered, and confident in their actions.

The Account Executive will be responsible for developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to be successful with our quarterly and annual financial targets. The position will work remotely with occasional travel and report to the Director of Software Sales.

Essential Functions and Expectations

  • Clearly understand the key challenges our customers face and how our solutions solve these challenges.
  • Be responsible for the achievement of quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Participate in accelerated onboarding/ramp-up time, and effectively learn the benefits of our solution with the ability to articulate these benefits to each target client..
  • Build relationships with prospects and internal stakeholders to grow new business and advance the sales cycle.
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions and competitive activities and utilize this knowledge to adjust our strategies.
  • Represent Five Star at key industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to initiate and progress sales.
  • Follow all Five Star sales operations procedures as determined by the Director of Sales.
  • Work to employ best-in-class sales techniques to ensure consistent delivery of revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Create, deploy, and analyze prospecting cadences; including cold calls, social media, and personalized emails, while connecting with the right persons at target school districts.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and implement improvements.
  • Negotiate and close new sales opportunities.
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.

Qualifications

  • To be considered for this position, a candidate must have a proven track record of software sales success in the K-12 educational marketplace, with extensive experience building strong relationships with school districts.
  • Demonstrated success exceeding quota, proven track record of closing $600K + annually in new annual recurring revenue.
  • 5 - 10 years of prospective enterprise software sales experience.
  • Experience within the education industry is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven success in creating and executing an effective sales plan for a defined territory.
  • Experience in prospecting, qualifying through the sales stages, and closing deals.
  • Experience managing an active pipeline of 50+ sales opportunities at any given time.
  • Strong organizational skills & highly coachable.
  • A passion for a fast-paced/high-growth environment.
  • This is a remote position, however, it is expected that you will be able to travel to meet with prospective clients, training, conferences, or marketing events.
