Account Executive (Houston, Texas)

Position Overview:

The Account Executive is a vital part of the outstanding teacher and student experience that makes Mentoring Minds the Critical Thinking thought leader. This person should possess outstanding sales skills, advanced customer service abilities, and a passion for getting teachers and children the products they need to excel. The Account Executive must proactively pursue new accounts, identify and overcome obstacles to increase business, and collaborate with the Client Development Specialists to grow existing accounts. The goals and metrics of the Account Executive are directly tied to the Company Annual Plan and vary year to year.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes customer needs
  • Builds strong brand recognition and reputation
  • Manages the entire sales life-cycle from generating new leads and prospecting accounts to closing new sales
  • Creates and executes detailed business plans to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Travels to meet face-to-face with customers and contacting customers by phone and email
  • Provides accurate and timely information to customers and potential customers
  • Exceeds customer expectations in all interactions and experiences
  • Attends trade shows and conferences at the Company’s request
  • Keeps CRM database up to date with all customer activity
  • Informs the sales manager of all problems concerning the Company’s customers, products, or services
  • Assists in collection efforts from non-paying customers upon request
  • Collaborates with other employees and departments to foster a positive work culture
  • Actively participates in team and company meetings and events including and not limited to frequent one-on-one meetings with the Sales Manager, team meetings, learning team partnership discussions, and company-wide events
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in K-12 market preferred
  • Proven track record in exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with interpersonal skills
  • Advanced time management and call planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to cold call, handle objections, cultivate accounts, and close sales
  • Intermediate skills in common Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with CRM or sales force automation
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand and drive for extended periods of time
  • BS or BA in education, business administration, sales or marketing preferred
