Abl offers advanced, data-driven software and services to help K12 school and district leaders identify and remove those barriers to equity. The Abl team is made up of education leaders and experts working together with engineers, designers, and data scientists to build the tools schools districts need to shape pathways for each student to achieve success.

We have two part-time opportunities available.   One requires direct secondary scheduling experience, the other data integration proficiency.

For option 1, as an Abl Success Coach Contractor, you will be responsible for providing coaching support to school teams as they implement Abl’s Scheduler. Working under the umbrella of our Client Experience Team, you will conduct coaching sessions with school teams following scheduling workshops, aiming to ensure smooth integration of strategic scheduling practices into their schools.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual coaching sessions with school teams post each scheduling workshop to reinforce learning and address specific challenges.
  • Guide school teams in understanding and applying scheduling principles discussed in workshops, ensuring alignment with equity and strategic goals.
  • Facilitate discussions with school teams to identify barriers to effective scheduling and develop strategies for overcoming them.
  • Provide technical support related to accessing and navigating the scheduling tool (Abl’s Scheduler) and troubleshooting any issues encountered.
  • Assist school teams in analyzing data and making informed decisions regarding course requests, scheduling groups, and section placements.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and stakeholders to ensure buy-in and understanding of the scheduling process and its impact.
  • Maintain documentation of coaching sessions, including action plans, progress updates, and any relevant feedback.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of coaching sessions and provide recommendations for improvement to enhance school team support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in K-12 education, preferably in a school leadership or instructional support role.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling principles, equity in education, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

For the second option, as a Data Ingestion Contractor, you will be responsible for managing the data ingestion and export process with various systems and education customers. The role will involve a high degree of project management, an understanding of Student Information Systems, and customer service, often in collaboration with other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead loading processes from diverse Student Information System (SIS) platforms into Abl systems, designing and implementing data ingestion workflows using APIs, scripts, or other relevant tools
  • Seamlessly integrate data from various sources into our systems
  • Export Abl Master Scheduler data back to SIS platforms, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and adherence to SIS standards throughout the process
  • Maintain a seamless flow of information between our systems and external platforms
  • Manage end-to-end data integration projects, encompassing scoping, planning, execution, and delivery, defining project timelines, milestones, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion

Skills necessary:

  • Student Information System (SIS) platform knowledge and integration expertise
  • Experience in Student Information System(SIS) operations
  • Experience in data ingestion/export from/to SIS platforms
  • Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in education or educational technology
