CK-12 is in the process of developing three open community college FlexBook® textbooks: Algebra, Precalculus, and Human Biology. We have an immediate need to recruit people who would be willing to provide peer review of our manuscripts. Reviewers should have experience teaching at the college level in the subject area noted.
The process would entail reading through the FlexBook® over the course of up to a month and then completing a questionnaire covering the following areas: Clarity, Readability & Comprehensiveness, Accuracy and Lack of Errors, Usefulness, Consistency, Appropriateness and Relevance, Features, Modularity and Interface.
While we are not allowed to pay for peer reviewers, there would be a small honorarium for this work and you would be included in the list of reviewers for that text. We hope that you or your colleagues have a desire to contribute to open college texts and are interested in this project.
Please note that in the coming semester, we will happily work with any professor or team that wishes to do a pilot with these resources (or a customized version specifically for your class).
