Nashville Classical’s teachers bring our school's mission to life by building structured, intentional classroom cultures and teaching with rigor and joy. Our Middle School Math teachers are responsible for leading diverse communities of 22-29 scholars, using a research-based curriculum.


In grades 5-8, each grade level includes a Math, ELA, Science/Social Studies Teacher. Each team is led by an experienced Mentor Teacher and the school has an Assistant Principal dedicated to Math, ELA, and Science/SS. In addition, the school's Central Office helps to set, communicate and support our school's academic program. At Nashville Classical, you'll be part of one team with a shared mission.


The ideal candidate possesses

-A TN certification in Secondary Math or equivalent degree.

- A track record of measurable classroom success, preferably in a high-performing urban school environment.

- A willingness to teach an extended year (professional development begins on July 18) and day (3:30 - 4:30pm is reserved for professional development and meetings on Monday - Thursday).


- Internalize, individualize, and execute math lesson plans.

- Teach all lessons with rigor.

Make instructional choices based on data with joy and urgency.- Engage in an ongoing data-driven cycle of assessment, analysis, and action.

- Implement school-wide systems for academics and behavior.- Pursue excellence by leading students to measurable academic achievements in classroom, state, and national assessments including NWEA MAP and aimsweb.

- Build an achievement-oriented culture during key moments like morning circle, afternoon circle, lunch, and recess.

- Engage families through phone calls, home visits, conferences, and more.- Do whatever it takes to achieve the mission of Nashville Classical.

Nashville Classical Charter SChool

Nashville Classical is a K-8 public charter school that opened with 89 founding Kindergarteners on July 31, 2013. Over the last 8 years, we have added one grade each year. In Fall 2021, our community will be complete as we enroll 575 K-8 scholars and hire our final, founding teachers.
