Primary responsibilities include:

Fundraising and External Relations:

  • Along with STC’s CODO and EC, serve as a lead fundraiser; identify and articulate funding and funder priorities
  • Partner with the STC leadership to develop a comprehensive long-term vision for STC’s development work; develop and execute strategy to achieve STC’s funding goals annually.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit new major gifts, building and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective donors.
  • Develop and track fundraising projections; communicate updates and adjust strategy as appropriate
  • Build a stewardship culture aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors and prospects.
  • Facilitate and coordinate staff engagement with institutional donors and prospects through briefings, talking points, scheduling, correspondence, and other follow up activities.
  • Work collaboratively with STC colleagues and members of the STC board to create strategies to expand STC’s pipeline of support, including increasing funding support towards general operations.
  • Work closely with program staff to become thoroughly familiar with a wide array of programs, and communicate them in a compelling manner to funders – both verbally and in writing.

Program & Team Management:

  • Oversee and manage STC’s fundraising program development and execution, ensuring that STC systematically sets and meets short- and long-term fundraising goals.
  • Identity and share internal and external best practices in fundraising strategy and execution across teams.
  • Manage at least one full-time staff member and one part-time staff member to ensure effective research, grantwriting, tracking, and reporting.
  • Oversee strategy and execution for fundraising events.
  • Coach roughly 5 regional staff members as they develop and implement local fundraising strategies

Organization Operations:

  • Be an active member of the STC team, including participating in STC staff meetings; be available to support STC national events or initiatives as appropriate
  • Be responsive to all communication, including submitting finance reports or other necessary documents by stated deadlines
  • Demonstrate commitment to STC’s mission and core values
