Position Overview:

In collaboration with the Senior Management team, the Sr. Director of Marketing will lead the overarching marketing and user growth strategy for Flocabulary. In this role you will manage our growing and talented Marketing team, and report to the CEO. You will relentlessly focus on growth, owning top stages of our funnel (awareness, lead gen and acquisitions) while still maintaining visibility across the funnel into the later stages (of conversion and renewal), driving demand and understanding what makes our customers successful. You will run experiments to measure and optimize user acquisition, conversion rates and other key growth metrics. You will create hypotheses, design experiments, analyze results, and deliver key insights and recommendations to the Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success and Marketing organizations. In short, you will leave no stone unturned when it comes to using sophisticated data analysis to optimize the top of Flocabulary’s funnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage directors of content marketing, lead generation and conversions to optimize performance and alignment of each function with the overall growth objectives
  • Own and optimize the top stages of our funnel (awareness, lead gen and acquisition) while still maintaining visibility across the funnel into the later stages (of conversion and renewal): develop strategies to build user awareness and then convert them into long-term customers
  • Identify which key marketing metrics correlate best with revenue by designing and carrying out tests and analyses
  • Create recommendations for where the marketing budget should be allocated to drive growth
  • Work closely with Product team to drive product updates and innovations that result in improved user acquisition, conversion, and retention
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners (Product, Engineering, Content, Sales, Customer Success) and work effectively in a heavily cross functional, fast-paced environment
  • Travel as needed for focus groups, conferences, events, and school visits to inform strategy

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of relevant quantitative marketing experience preferably in ed tech or a SaaS company
  • 3-5 years of direct staff management and supervision experience
  • Exceptional data analysis skills, including expertise in a variety of analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively for diverse audiences
  • Passion for education and the needs of diverse K12 learners at the center of all our work
  • Outstanding team player with proven leadership skills
  • Undergraduate degree required
