Position Summary: World Learning is looking for a Program Associate to play a vital role in the implementation of the Digital Young Leaders Exchange Program (DYLEP). DYLEP is a virtual program that will connect 225 high school students from Iraq and the United States online over the course of three months. During the program, students will learn about the importance of diversity and leadership, various global issues, civic engagement, as well as develop mutual understanding between Iraq and the United States. The Program Associate will be primarily involved with instructional design, video production, digital marketing and analytics, and administrative support.
DYLEP is sponsored by the Stevens Initiative, which is a multilateral public-private partnership designed to increase people-to-people exchange between youth in the United States and the Middle East and North Africa as a lasting tribute to the legacy of Ambassador Chris Stevens.
Assist with the creation of engaging and differentiated course content online;
Develop lesson plans and accompanying materials and assessments;
Assist with the editing and production of digital assets and videos for the program;
Conduct research and provide recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, software and web applications to support teaching and learning;
Maintain direct communication with the students and program facilitators to act as liaison for questions and problems;
Manage program presence and branding across digital and social media platforms by working with program staff, students, and other stakeholders;
Assist with the design of program surveys and evaluations, as well as the collection and interpretation of data from online platforms;
Manage and maintain comprehensive student and alumni databases;
Provide administrative support to the Program Officer;
Work collaboratively with other team members; and
Other tasks as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years relevant experience or Master’s Degree and 1+ year relevant experience
Experience with instructional design, curriculum development, teaching, or training
Experience providing administrative support and managing large amounts of data
Proficient in using Learning Management Systems and digital communication tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps for Work
Adept at social media and online networking tools
Superior interpersonal, communication, cross-cultural, organizational, and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to learn and use new software and web applications quickly
Ability to take initiative, be creative, flexible, and work independently and with a team
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficient in using video editing software, web page editors, basic HTML, and other online learning and course development tools
Familiarity with Iraqi, Arab or Kurdish culture
Arabic or Kurdish language proficiency
