ELA Content Writer

WHO WE ARE

Afficient Academy is a software company that builds learning products for K-12 using AI. Our talent pool comes from education, entrepreneurship, and engineering backgrounds. We are very Agile in the way we do things, so we hope you are too.

ROLE

• 1/3: Develop ELA curriculum/content that exceeds current standards
• 1/3: Collaborate with content and engineering team to ensure the best implementation of products and report areas of improvement to the head of content
• 1/3: Research other edtech products, tools we use at work, and topics related to content to be generated

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 70%: Willingness to learn, work ethic, and how well you take feedback
• A strong command of English (verbal and written)
• Strong communication skills (yes, different from command)
• Experience teaching K-12 ELA (min of 2 years)
• Experience writing (any) content (min of 2 years)
• Highly motivated with a desire to create the best content/product
• A passion for ELA and improving education through technology
• A meticulous nature (must pay a lot of attention to detail--QA)!
• Advanced Word and Excel
• Knowledge of basic computer programming is a plus
• Experience writing content for big tech companies or standardized tests is a plus
• A Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in English, Linguistics, Education or Marketing within the past 10 years (intentionally mentioned last)
