As the 0991 Project Manager, EmpowerSF you will report to Executive Director for EmpowerSF be a part of that team and serve as a district leader in developing and managing systems, processes, and protocols that will bridge human resources and payroll systems for staff. You will help to lead the transformational work to deliver on the promises outlined in both Transform Learning. Transform Lives. as well as our long-term, city-wide North Star, Vision 2025. We want someone who is highly technical, analytical,detail-oriented, a problem-solver, and who can work independently as well as with others. This position will engage cross-departmental work in identifying areas of strength, positive impact and challenges with Enterprise Resources system (ERP) used by staff. This work will ensure there is a critical lens to keep equity paramount, by interrupting, disrupting, and dismantling systems that perpetuate historical inequalities.
Project Management
- Act as a project lead for the functional integration of core modules of EMPowerSF, including recruitment, workforce, and payroll modules using SAP
- Design and implement effective collaboration and operational structures across the system in ways that support the successful implementation of tech-enabled projects while fostering and maintaining positive relationships
- Collaborate with fucational divisions and other project team members to design appropriate solutions and execute projects in a timely manner, for functional enhancements, new functionality, and to provide ongoing support to functional teams and users
- Oversee, track, and make decisions for the allocation and alignment of DoT and Digital District budget resources to achieve timely, high-quality outcomes
- Work with stakeholders to communicate issues while balancing business expectations
- Lead and/or participate in client training and other implementation initiatives as a part of overall project deliverables
- Communicate with internal teams, stakeholders and partners on a regular basis. Ensure all parties have accurate and current information
Demonstrate a Leadership Mindset
- Establish strategies for systems that enable staff to manage their human resource and payroll process and aligned to SFUSD’s overall technology vision to help SFUSD deliver on the Digital District Plan and Vision 2025
- Identify opportunities for improving business processes through automation; prepare proposals for the consolidation of systems to improve business processes in collaboration with the appropriate district workgroups
- Assist in designing and implementing processes for data retrieval that identify trends needed for a better experience for staff
- Define best practices, innovate on processes, and evangelize across the team, and SFUSD.
- Lead strategy and implementation of EmpowerSF systems toward the long-term vision for a coherence technology ecosystem focused on continuous improvement and sustainability
Manage to Results
- Evaluates, recommends, and implements programmatic methods to maximize the operational efficiency for our system that staff interact with on a daily basis
- Identify and eliminate blockers and obstacles to progress and delivery on cross-functional projects.
- Develop and monitor effective communication and collaboration across teams to ensure the successful implements of projects and deliverables
- Manage reports from systems, such as Zendesk reports, in order to evaluate needed shift in system interface and enhanced end-user experience
Manage Teams
- Participates with the cross departmental management in strategic planning to meet District initiatives, policy and governance development, and problem resolution of complex issues and needs of the District
- Develop reports and visualizations used for stakeholder discussions
- Delegate tasks and projects to staff in services of SFUSD digital transformation; direct team members to the tools and resources needed to meet individual, project, and team goals
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in project management. Preferred PMP certification.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to a range of audiences.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- Preferred xperience with support SAP SuccessFactors and/or Workforce platforms and/or SuccessFactors or Workforce certifications
- Excellent organizational, logical reasoning, and multitasking skills.
- Strong knowledge of Google Drive: Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and roles within a complex organization
- A proven record of effectively planning, organizing and using resources to take action and achieve goals
- Ability to work effectively in difficult situations that involve confidential and sensitive matters
- A team focus with a coachable and approachable workstyle
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into user-friendly, accessible language
- Experience in implementing new systems and tools and/or systems consolidation
- Familiarity with human capital software such as SAP, SuccessFactors, Workforce, Oracle, or PeopleSoft
- The ability to build strong working relationships and support a positive work environment
- An organized, efficient, on-time, cost-conscious perspective that seeks to continuously improve
- Knowledge of San Francisco’s public schools/urban public schools and a passionate belief in SFUSD’s commitment to instructional leadership as a lever toward delivering on the SFUSD Graduate Profile
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S) from an accredited college or university
- Two (2) years of related work experience
Substitution: Education requirement may be substituted for additional professional-level experience on a year-for-year basis.
