Education Technology Integration Institute

Lakewood, CO - Jul 23 8:00 am to Jul 27, 2018 4:30 pm

Price: more than $250

Emerging technology in education follows the same trend as all forms of technology -- it’s constantly improving and features an array of functions that are certainly useful to those utilizing it; however, the ways it can be used are seemingly endless, and giving it purpose in learning environments can be difficult.

This institute will support educators in mitigating the inevitable learning curve associated with some of the emerging technology in education. Participants will also be tasked with reassessing some of the tech that has been moved out of the circle of “innovative” and into to the area of “obsolete”, and discover new ways to use this tech in their school or classroom.

Ultimately, this institute will cover technology in many areas -- from Raspberry Pis to Google Classroom, to cutting edge robotics like Sphero and Dash and Dot, to QR Codes, to Osmo for iPhones and iPads and tons of other tech -- and leverage expert facilitators, all while exploring how education technology can be integrated into learning environments to increase student engagement exponentially.

Topics and Questions Covered:

  • Computer science skill development in tandem with the use of robotics technology and cutting-edge apps built to develop these skills in students.
  • Apps, programs and websites designed specifically for the implementation of gamification learning strategies in your school or classroom.
  • Reassess tech that has been written off as no longer useful to education, or in its own right, and explore some truly innovative ways to use what’s been deemed as lacking innovation.
  • Tech built to support educators in working collaboratively with one another, and to also aid them in the organization of class curriculum and materials necessary to their learning outcomes.
  • Tech built to help educators automate certain aspects of their workflow, and create a more streamlined process that will help them save time.
  • How is emerging technology, and tech on the horizon, integral to the future careers of students? Leverage the support of industry partners who are witnessing the implications of a technology-driven world first-hand.

Who should attend this Institute?

  • Any educator interested in leveraging unused technology in their school or classroom to design new curriculum strategies, and ultimately increase student engagement by using education technology to their advantage
  • Instructional coaches who seek a deeper understanding of education technology and new insights pertaining to how it can be used in the learning environments they are trying to help their adult learners cultivate
  • Administrators who desire a more focused approach to education technology in their school, but may not know the best ways to proceed
  • Teams of educators in schools who are looking to approach the use of technology in their school from all angles, and want a calculated investigation of its uses, especially with how it pertains to student learning
  • Anyone outside of education interested in developing a deeper understanding of technology and it’s benefits in work environments
