Closing the Gender Gap in STEM Education

Online Sep 25 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Price: Free

During this STEMtacular session, Kim will discuss:

-How she transformed an old computer lab into a vibrant STEM lab.

-How she is integrating literacy, global connections, and robotics.

-How she started her after school girls' coding club, The GigaGirls, and how CoderZ is helping prepare them for the robust robotics program that is the pride of our county.

After the presentation, Kim will answer questions from the audience.

Kim has been an educator for 27 years as a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classroom teacher. She holds NC licensure in Regular Ed, Special Ed, and AIG, has her National Board Certification, and was awarded an NC State Kenan Fellowship to create multi-user immersive science games for elementary students.

We’ve been working to increase the number of girls in STEM and coding through many of our initiatives, such as CRCC. After the session hopefully we will all be empowered and inspired to work on closing the gender gap in the STEM fields.

This will be a fascinating session so register for this STEM webinar today. Let your colleagues know about it also… sharing is caring, isn’t?
