About the Session
How can you strengthen the mission-driven culture at your edtech organization? Join EdTechWomen San Francisco for an interactive session facilitated by four leaders driving mission and culture. Come with a curiosity for best practices, policies, and traditions at other organizations, as well as your own stories to share. Leave eager to implement your new ideas at your workplace the following day.
Doors open at 6 PM, and session begins at 6:15 PM.

Ellie Hook, IXL, Proposals Manager at IXL
Ellie Hook served as a Teach For America corps member in San Jose, CA, where she taught tenth-grade ELA at KIPP San Jose Collegiate. Following TFA, Ellie transitioned to edtech, joining the sales team at IXL Learning and partnering with educators across the Pacific Northwest. Currently, she serves as the Proposals Manager at IXL, focusing on capturing IXL’s value in customized implementation proposals and leading district-level partnerships.Esther Tricoche, Associate Partner at NewSchools Venture Fund
Fresia Jackson, Insights Strategist at Culture Amp
Fresia is passionate about bringing data to people problems, which she has advocated for in diverse settings from government agencies to startups. Following the completion of her Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, she moved from Baltimore to San Francisco to join Culture Amp. As an Insights Strategist, she works with customers throughout the survey to action process. This includes identifying and aligning key objectives to the survey strategy, as well as interpreting and sharing the results.
Jamila Amarshi, Product Manager at Clever
Jamila is now a Product Manager at Clever, but in her 4 years at the company, she's held roles on most teams. As Head of People Operations, she drove the effort to define Clever's Culture Tenets and integrate them into recruiting practices. Now, as PM of the Internal Products team, she gets to tackle culture through a new lens. Prior to joining Clever, Jamila led national expansion efforts at the Level Playing Field Institute. She holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In her spare time, you'll find her dancing, eating her way through SF, or trying to fulfill her quest to try every fruit in the world.
