Bring Summer of Minecraft to Your Community

Online - Jul 6 to Aug 1, 2015

Price: $51 to $250

Youth organizations, educators, libraries and others interested in offering a Minecraft program this summer are being offered free expert advice, challenges, and guides through Connected Camps’ affiliate program.

Connected Camps, a new benefit corporation, and Institute of Play, a nonprofit organization, are offering “Summer of Minecraft,” a four-week online Minecraft camp, starting July 6.

Campers, ages 9-13, will be taught everything from the basics of building to coding skills in a safe multiplayer environment. Participants can login to safe, moderated servers and share their in-game creations through weekly challenges. The camp features live broadcasts, online discussion with campers and experts, and collaborative design jam events where participants create community-driven projects.

Summer of Minecraft challenges, livestreams and forums are free for anybody to take part. Participants can register to play in the Connected Camps server for a fee, and sign up for advanced coding instruction. In addition, parents can sign up for their own parent camp to learn more about fostering learning through Minecraft.

The camps will be staffed by trained camp counselors and teen mentors who are Minecraft experts, ensuring an online experience that is safe, fun and productive.
