St. Louis, Missouri Apr 23 all day

Price: more than $250

Join us for Achieving the Dream’s 2nd annual Teaching and Learning Summit to explore how your college can create a culture of teaching and learning excellence for student success. Our Summit is designed to support institutional teams of four or more in examining inclusive, evidence-based classroom instructional practices and faculty professional learning strategies, and will design an action plan for implementing models that support students to succeed and achieve their academic and professional goals.

Plenaries, spotlight sessions, concurrent sessions and team work times are designed to empower faculty as leaders and to strengthen the role of Centers for Teaching and Learning in addressing issues of student access, achievement, persistence, completion, and equity in teaching and learning. The Summit’s design uses ATD’s guiding principles for building a culture of teaching and learning excellence to support student success. Workshops and presentations will be linked to these principles and college teams will be asked to focus on one or two principles to guide their work in action planning:

Guiding Principle I: Full-time and adjunct faculty are using learner-centered inclusive, evidence-based instructional practices to foster student learning.

Guiding Principle II:Full-time and adjunct faculty are key collaborators in the college’s student success efforts with staff and administrators in academic affairs and student affairs.

Guiding Principle III: Faculty and students engage as active learners in an accessible, empowering, personalized, and supportive academic community.

Guiding Principle IV: Institution embraces professional learning for continuous improvement and aligns these activities and related expectations in hiring, evaluation, promotion.
