Dawn Dupriest is a computer science and math teacher in the Poudre School District.

Brief Biography

Dawn teaches computer science and electronics at Preston Middle School in Fort Collins, Colorado. She enjoys learning about new technology along with her students, and creating interesting projects with programming and electronics. She worked as a software engineer at Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies for nine years prior to her career in teaching. A strong advocate of computer science education as a core discipline, she was selected by the Rotary Clubs of Fort Collins as Poudre School District’s Teacher of the Year in 2012. In 2015, she presented in Washington, D.C. as part of the National Education Association’s Teacher Leadership Initiative. Recently, Dawn was selected to be an Allen Distinguished Educator. In her free time, Dawn also enjoys running, camping with her family in the Colorado mountains, taking clogging lessons, and decorating ugly sweaters with Arduino and LED’s.
