ACLU, Parent Groups Oppose Tracking Student Outcomes

KEEPING A RECORD: Privacy and parent groups and American Civil Liberties Union are calling on the Commission on Evidence-Based Policymaking to reject using a student-unit record system. The system is a federal database that tracks college students’ outcomes, from academic information to employment. President Obama earlier this year signed the Evidence-Based Policymaking Commission Act of 2016, and the 15-person commission was created to evaluate government data and education programs.
