G Suite Found to Comply With Federal, State Privacy Laws

Oct 13, 2016

GOOGLE PRIVACY DODGES BULLET, FOR NOW: Nonprofit California Educational Technology Professionals Association and its legal partner have found Google’s education applications (renamed G Suite recently) comply with federal and state privacy protection laws. According to CETPA, when taking G Suite terms and documents altogether, the tool “likely complies” with FERPA and AB 1584, California’s data privacy compliance law. CETPA clarified, however, some aspects of the federal and state laws do not appear verbatim in privacy terms and conditions of G Suite. Check out the full release and legal analysis for more.
